The best beach holidays start with a stress-free arrival, and that begins with packing the right things. Whether you’re heading to an oceanfront condo in Ocean City, Maryland or a family home near Bethany Beach in Delaware, here’s what to bring (and what you can leave behind) for your Royal Vacas stay.
What We Provide
Good news: you can travel lighter than you think. In our homes and condos you’ll find:
- Sheets, linens, blankets and pillows
- Bath towels
- A kitchen equipped with cookware and the essentials for cooking
- A coffee maker, with coffee supplies in many of our properties
Most of our properties also have a washer and dryer, so you can pack less and wash as you go. Check your property’s listing for the full list of amenities.
Don’t Forget: Beach Towels
This is the one guests most often forget. Beach towels are not provided, so pack one per person (plus a spare for the kids). Bath towels are for the house, beach towels are for the sand.
Your Beach Day Checklist
- Beach towels and a beach bag
- Reef-friendly sunscreen, sunglasses and hats
- Swimwear for the beach and the seasonal community pool
- Flip-flops or sandals
- Beach chairs, an umbrella or a sun shelter
- A cooler for drinks and snacks
- Buckets, spades and a frisbee or ball for the kids
Groceries and Essentials
With a full kitchen at your disposal, many guests stock up on breakfast items, snacks and easy dinners on the way in. Our Millville home near Bethany Beach is just minutes from grocery stores, and our Ocean City condos are within walking distance or a short drive of shops and restaurants.
Travelling with Your Dog?
Our Lighthouse Cottage in Selbyville, Delaware welcomes pets. It has a large back yard for walks and is a straight drive to Fenwick Island and Ocean City. Pack their bed, bowls, leads and favourite toys, and remember to add your pet to the reservation (a pet fee applies). Our other properties are pet-free.
For Rainy Days and Evenings In
Pack a few board games, books or a deck of cards for cosy nights in. Several of our condos and our Millville home already have toys, games and puzzles for younger guests, so you may not need to bring many.
Getting There
Save your property address and check-in instructions on your phone before you set off, especially if you’re arriving late. Many of our properties offer self check-in, so you can arrive on your own schedule.
